Life path and finding your integrity
You will drastically change how you react to everything in life by simply rejecting thoughts that aren’t reality. Her belief that “the truth is whatever is in front of you, whatever is really happening” is hard for most of us to accept because we’ve created our own truths and beliefs over the course of many years — and we guard them closely. It’s holding on so tightly to thoughts that are hurting you that will continue to make your own life stressful.
The process of inquiry consists of four simple questions:
You cannot rush through these important four moments because you need to take a moment to truly meditate and find the answers that are hidden in your mind. We put these judgements and assumptions on ourselves, and they can shift our identity. By the time you get to the end of this meditative practise, you strip away all those judgements and thoughts and you’ll realise who you truly are. No two people can have the same journey because whatever you believe onto your life is what is. The Work is there to help you with any kind of frustration, and any kind of disappointment, and the reason why it can help your life journey, is because it is ongoing work.
Byron Katie believes that wisdom never moves from our minds because it is always there. As long as we are believing in the judgements, we put on ourselves, there just isn’t any room for wisdom left. All you need to do is to question those judgements and you make room for wisdom. You’ve always been connected to it; you just have to make a stronger connection by getting rid of the fog around it.
What is Byron Katie’s The Work?
The Work is a meditative process, which includes taking a moment of stillness to get in touch with yourself and a fuller experience of life. It is an inquiry into ourselves to identify the thought that you’re thinking and believing in an actual situation in the past or your future that you may fear or dread. It won’t be easy and it will take courage to question our thinking, thoughts, and believing, to see our part, and look at ourselves from a different perspective. The Work will simply guide everyone to wake up to our true reality of our nature.
“Peace doesn't require two people; it requires only one. It has to be you. The problem begins and ends there.” ― Byron Katie
